El concepto de “seguir al conejo” aparece por primera vez de la mano de Lewis Carroll en 1862, en sus obras "Alicia y el País de las Maravillas" y "A través del espejo y lo que Alicia encontró allí".
La imagen del conejo simboliza un evento inesperado, el cual revelará a su seguidor la comprensión de una realidad paralela y fascinante, que se encargará de desmoronar sus convicciones personales. El conejo despliega una nueva visión, una visión fantástica de la realidad desde otra perspectiva. Seguir al conejo implica entonces la necesidad de una apertura agazapada y expectante, un "dejarse llevar" y "dejarse sorprender".
El conejo corre contra reloj hacia un lugar sin tiempo. El conejo no es nadie ni nada en particular. El conejo es un símbolo, una alegoría de aquello que está, que existe pero a veces no vemos. El conejo está para que lo sigan. Simplemente hay que estar atento. Y sobre todo, nunca dejar de moverse.
